SKOLEGADE 1, 2, 4, 5 and UDTALEMATERIALE for no. 4
The other day I went to IA Sprog – the language school at Hejrevej here in Copenhagen. They had a lot of books they had to replace with new books – and would I come and pick some up? Of course – this is part of what we do here in Klingbjerg – sprogforlag & boghandel. It turned out that the books have not been used at all – the only thing I could not get was a CD that was part of the program.
However, I borrowed some of the CDs from our local library – and they should not be that difficult to get. It was really fun to watch a class of students who actually spoke fine Danish, probably to make it all clear what was said. We meet Annie, the teacher, and her very small class of I think 5 or 6 students. The fun part of the CDs was that they have a twist – the people are not picture perfect. For example Fatma thinks that Queen Margrethe is their teacher Annie – although she does not look one bit like the Queen. Is Fatma ironic or can’t she see the difference between all these white people surrounding her and when two of the students are called Adam and Eva Fatma exclaims Oh my God!
We also meet a Danish student Nina, who moves into her new apartment and works in her spare time as a receptionist. When Nina’s new neighbours – who are very curious – see her, all the women show jealousy. Seen from a 2020 perspective it is a very big apartment that Nina moves into! Many of the parts are played by well-known actors and actresses, which makes the filmclips even better-
The Skolegade system is made for DU 2 and 3 : from breakthrough, waystage and up to threshold level. Get them at Klingbjerg in Sankt Peders Stræde 51 in Copenhagen.
Ordbogen indeholder desuden 75 anatomiske tegninger. Bestil den her på hjemmesiden eller kom ned i vores boghandel for mere info.
The government will demand that foreign doctors are able to communicate with their patients in an understandable Danish, says Minister for Health Magnus Heunicke. Today foreign doctors and nurses from EU countries can be employed without any knowledge of the Danish language and people form outside the EU must take a test that proves they can read and write Danish – but nobody will be asked if they know how to speak the language. According to the Minister for Health this must be changed and he will introduce a national demand that requires that doctors are able to speak Danish. In 2017 more than 2000 doctors with a foreign background were employed in Denmark
Sundhedsdansk published by Jørgen Kvist Kristensen, Elisabeth Friis Lippert, Claes Mørkebjerg og Susanne Vahr Lauridsen is a book for the increasing number of foreign doctors and nurses employed in the Danish healthcare system. The book contains an introduction to the Danish healthcare system – its structure, legal basis and function, as well as a dictionary with relevant words, meanings and expressions in both Latin and Danish specialist terminology and everyday words. You will also find 75 anatomical drawings in this section. You can order it right here on our website or come into our bookstore and have a closer look!

All seasons have their characteristics – and autumn and winter are the seasons for book-fairs! We started in Esbjerg with our glossaries for Harry Potter at #fantasyfestival19 at Esbjerg Hovedbibliotek. A weekend filled with very enthusiastic and happy people, interested in all aspects of fantasy such as games, films, board games, role play – and books of course. Every year the number of participants increase, but we experience a special atmosphere among people who have come to enjoy their favorite hobby. There is room for everybody – even me – as a former colleague said hugging me: you are probably the last person I would expect to see here at the festival! (people who know me will know why….) Maybe you will find the time to come and visit this great fantasy festival – as always the third weekend in September (19. – 20. September 2020) We’ll be there!
