We had a great time at the Bogmessen in Bella Centret last month – and equally so in Frankfurt! Especially the Germans know how important it is to speak good English. As for our Danish materials it is always a pleasure to guide someone to buy the right book for their study – and the more we work and meet people, the more material we discover: materials for dyslexic people from Alfabeta, crosswords making proverbs in Danish just for the fun of it, How to live in Denmark (in English, Chinese and Arabic) by Kay Xander Mellish – and dansk som andetsprog for kindergarten.
Just the other day I discovered an organization called Elderlearn (www.elderlearnd.dk). They started in December 2017 financially supported by Ensomme Gamles Værn and a handful of municipalities in and around Copenhagen. It is a socialøkonomisk organization which means that some of its profit will be reinvested in their projects of abolishing loneliness among elderly people and advancing integration among foreigners. What a great idea! Maybe other municipalities will copy the idea?
